On day 1 of the Gosainkunda Trek, you will drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi, which is the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around 7-8 hours and covers a distance of approximately 117 kilometers. You will start your journey early in the morning, and head northwards from Kathmandu, passing through the towns of Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning views of the mountains and valleys of the Langtang region. As you approach Sybrubensi, the road becomes more rugged and challenging, but the scenery becomes even more spectacular. You will drive through narrow gorges and alongside raging rivers, and you will pass through several small villages along the way. Upon arrival in Sybrubensi, you will check into your lodge and have some time to relax and explore the local area. Sybrubensi is a small, charming village situated on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River, and it is the gateway to the Langtang region.
The trail starts with a gradual climb through a forested area, offering stunning views of the Langtang Himal range. You will cross several suspension bridges over the Bhote Koshi River and Langtang Khola River, and pass through several small settlements and tea shops along the way. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you will reach Bamboo, a small village located at an altitude of 1,850 meters. You will stop here for a lunch break and rest. After lunch, you will continue your trek to Lama Hotel, which is located at an altitude of 2,324 meters. The trail is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through rhododendron and bamboo forests. You may have the chance to spot some wildlife along the way, such as monkeys and birds. Upon arrival in Lama Hotel, you will check into your lodge and have some time to rest and relax. Lama Hotel is a small village with a few guesthouses and shops, and it is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by forests and mountains. In the evening, you will have dinner with your trekking group and spend the night in your lodge, in preparation for the next day's trek to Langtang village.
Moving along Langtang Khola, You will trek through a dense forest filled with oaks, juniper, rhododendron, and pine.The trail starts with a gradual ascent through a forested area, offering stunning views of the Langtang Himal range. You will cross several small streams and waterfalls, and pass through several small settlements and tea shops along the way. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you will reach Ghoda Tabela, a small village located at an altitude of 2,970 meters. You will stop here for a lunch break and rest. After lunch, you will continue your trek to Langtang Village, which is located at an altitude of 3,330 meters. The trail is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through a scenic valley. You will pass through several small settlements and tea shops, and have the chance to observe the local culture and way of life of the Tamang people who live in the region. Upon arrival in Langtang Village, you will check into your lodge and have some time to rest and explore the local area. Langtang Village is a picturesque village with traditional stone houses and prayer flags, and it is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped mountain. You will gwt to see Langtang Lirung (7234m). Overnight at an lodge in Langtang.
Passing by the village of Mundu, you will come across few monasteries, Chortens, prayers flag, and a large Mani wall built with prayers carved stones, on our way to Kyanjin Gompa. The trail starts with a gradual ascent through a scenic valley, offering stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. You will pass through several small settlements and tea shops along the way. After approximately 2-3 hours of trekking, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa, which is located at an altitude of 3,870 meters. Kyanjin Gompa is an ancient monastery that is considered the most sacred by the Buddhist locals of the region and is surrounded by the breathtaking Langtang ranges. Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa
If you choose to hike to Tserko Ri, you will wake up early in the morning and begin your ascent to the summit. Tserko Ri is a peak located at an altitude of 4,985 meters, offering stunning panoramic views of the Langtang Himal range and the surrounding valleys. The trail is steep and challenging, with some rocky sections and loose scree, but the views from the top are truly breathtaking. After approximately 4-5 hours of hiking, you will reach the summit of Tserko Ri, where you can take in the spectacular views and capture some memorable photos. You will then descend back to Kyanjin Gompa for lunch and rest. Explore the surrounding beauty of Kyanjin Gompa If you choose to explore the surrounding beauty of Kyanjin Gompa, you can spend the day hiking to nearby viewpoints, visiting the local cheese factory, or simply relaxing and enjoying the peaceful mountain atmosphere. Kyanjin Gompa is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers, and there are plenty of opportunities to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Overnight stay in Kyanjin Gompa. In the evening, you will have dinner with your trekking group and spend the night in your lodge, in preparation for the next day's trek back to Lama Hotel.
You will traceback the trail to Lama Hotel following the Langtang Khola, continuing your trek you will come across Ghodatabela before reaching Lama Hotel. We walk through rhododendron forests and yak pasturelands to reach Lama Hotel. After approximately 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach Lama Hotel, where you will check into your lodge and have some time to rest and relax. Overnight at a lodge in Lama Hotel.
On day 7 of the Gosainkunda Trek, you will trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru. The trail follows the Langtang River and passes through dense forests of rhododendron, bamboo, and oak trees, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After approximately 2-3 hours of trekking, you will reach Bamboo, a small settlement with a few tea shops and lodges. You can take a short break here to rest and refuel before continuing your trek. You will then continue your ascent towards Thulo Syabru, passing through several small villages and traditional settlements along the way. Thulo Syabru is a beautiful village located at an altitude of 2,260 meters, with stunning views of the Langtang Himal range. After approximately 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach Thulo Syabru, where you will check into your lodge and have some time to rest and explore the local area. Thulo Syabru is a popular stop on the Gosainkunda Trek, with plenty of tea shops, lodges, and shops selling local handicrafts. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.
You will trek towards Dursagang enjoying the splendid view of Langtang Lirung (7234m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Ganesh Himal (7422m) and other peaks. After approximately 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach Sing Gompa, a small village located at an altitude of 3,330 meters. Sing Gompa is a popular stop on the Gosainkunda Trek, with a few tea shops, lodges, and a famous cheese factory. After reaching Sing Gompa, you can visit the local cheese factory and taste some delicious cheese made from yak milk. You can also explore the local area and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.We then climb up some steep ridges making our way through dense forest before arriving in Sing Gompa. Today, You will trek towards Gosainkunda, the holy lake made by Lord Shiva to save the world. The trail is steep and challenging, with a significant altitude gain from 3,330 meters to 4,400 meters. You will pass through beautiful forests of rhododendron and oak trees, and cross several streams and waterfalls along the way. As you ascend higher, the trail becomes steeper and more challenging, and you will need to take frequent breaks to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. The final stretch of the trail is particularly challenging, as you climb up a steep ridge to reach Gosainkunda, a sacred lake located at an altitude of 4,400 meters. Upon reaching Gosainkunda, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, as well as the sacred lake itself. Gosainkunda is considered a holy site by both Hindus and Buddhists, and it is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva. After spending some time at Gosainkunda, you will trek back to your lodge Taking a bath in the holy water is believed to wash away all the sins. Overnight at Gosainkunda.
The trail moves on to the northern side of Gosainkunda Lake and climbs through the rugged terrain of Laurebina La Pass at 4610m. There is a ridge across the valley with the steep trail across its face. The trail then descends through the forest, moving in and out of ravines across the head of the valley. A giant cliff is seen at a distance called Thare Danda beyond which is Gopte (3359m). Overnight in Gopte.
You start off descending along the ridge through forests of rhododendron and juniper, passing by a stream before finally climbing to Tharepati, a small area with several herders’ hut. The trail then goes down through pine and rhododendron forest giving impeccable views of the entire Helambu valley, Jugal Himal Range, and Numbur Himal (6959m).
The trek today follows a rather easy route. A short climb to cross the ridge and then you follow an easy trail through forest and amazing views of various snowcapped mountains. After you reach Kutumsang, you climb a pass before descending to the Gurung-Tamang settlement of Gulphu Bhanjyang. You can see the majestic peaks like Annapurna (8091m), Manaslu (8156m), and Numbur Himal (6959m).
You move towards Chisapani after breakfast. It is an easy climb to cross a pass before descending to Pati Bhanjyang which is a large Tamang village. It takes about 2 hours more to reach Chisapani from here. A temple that lies in its periphery gives the amazing panorama of mountain peaks like Ganesh Himal (7422m), Manaslu (8156m), and Langtang Lirung (7234m). Overnight in Chisapani.
You wake up early to watch the sunrise glistening in shades of red and golden as the sunrays fall upon the mountains. You will trek through Borlang Bhanjyang (2440m) which is close to Shivapuri Hill, from where you descend to Sundarijal via Mulkharka. The van awaits you at Sundarijal bus park to drop you back at the hotel. The entire evening is for you to relax and let go of the trek strain from our body.
