People there are very friendly and pleased to talked to visitors everything about Kathmandu / Nepal, it is very helpful to non-grouped traveler. I bought telephone sim card (it is complicated to buy a telephone card in Nepal), extended travel visa, bus fare, package tour there, and services are tailored made and fit me much!
We had an amazing nine day trek in upper Mustang. The guide and porters were incredible and helpful in all ways. They were attentive to our needs. And willing to deviate from the original plans as our needs dictated. However, the management was disappointing. They required a large deposit in US dollars which I thought was unusual. Then did not communicate or provide receipt of payment for two weeks until just before our travel dates. Everything from required permits to transportation tickets were done at the last minute— Like the day we left Kathmandu for the trek. Carry all bags for the porters were not purchased until the morning we flew to our trekking area. We were required to rent sleeping bags although we never used them. They did take credit cards for final payment but added back the card fees. We road in a bus between Pokhara and Kathmandu that had broken seats.
